“ I am amazed by all that you and your family have accomplished on your small property. I really appreciate how you demonstrated that it is possible live a homesteading lifestyle in an urban environment. The tour went above and beyond my expectations. While I was excited to hear about how you manage your farm, I was blown away with all of the helpful information you provided. I didn’t just learn about how you worked your farm but because you shared how you did things I also learned a number of things that I could incorporate in my own work in my very simple garden.”

The Urban Homestead offers a wonderful opportunity for us to see how the farm works up close and have a hands on experience with where our food comes from. Through Farm to Table workshops and field trips, I’ve seen the excitement of children to make food from the garden, hold the chickens and ducks that provide our eggs, and see a honey bee hive up close! The homestead offers a rare opportunity to share in a lifetime of living in connection to our food and to the land. It’s beautiful to see how a family living in a small urban home can grow healthy, bountiful food and share it with the community.
