WEEKLY MEAL WRAP UP

It’s been busy week, filled with home improvement projects, outreach and Passover preparations.

SATURDAY

Breakfast – homemade waffles (made with homeraised eggs)
Dinner – homemade whole wheat flour tortillas, homemade spanish rice with organic black beans with homegrown lettuce and organic cheese

SUNDAY

Breakfast – homemade granola
Lunch – leftovers from Saturday dinner
Dinner – (working late on home improvements)

MONDAY

Breakfast – homemade granola
Lunch – (working on fixing kitchen) organic peanut butter and homegrown, homemade peach jam sandwich
Dinner – (working on fixing kitchen) same as lunch

TUESDAY

Breakfast – homemade granola
Lunch – homegrown fava beans, homegrown green onions and barley with homegrown salad
Dinner -homeraised eggs salad sandwich (made with homegrown green onions, chives, celery and arugula) with homegrown salad

WEDNESDAY

Breakfast – homemade granola
Lunch – mac & cheese (organic) with homegrown broccoli and homegrown salad
Dinner – homegrown kale salad (thanks for the dressing recipe Merryrose!) organic CA long grain rice with homegrown broccoli, homegrown green garlic and homegrown herbs

THURSDAY (out and about, front lawn of LA City Hall)

Breakfast – homemade granola
Lunch – homegrown green soup
Dinner – leftover soup

FRIDAY

Breakfast – homemade granola
Lunch – homegrown fava beans, homegrown broccoli with organic CA rice with homegrown salad
Dinner – organic whole wheat pasta with homegrown broccoli and kale, homegrown baby field greens and homemade, home fermented wine made with homegrown grapes

    I’m a new reader here, and after seeing a few of these weekly meal wrap-ups I’m very curious to know how you can eat granola every single day for breakfast? I love granola, but don’t you ever get tired of it? Are you making it fresh every week in a different combination? Different fruits, etc?

    Hi Anais – always inspiring to see the lovely pics of your homegrown meals. i was wondering if you could post your recipe for Spanish rice? (It doesn’t have to be exact) Whenver I’ve tried to make this it either burns or goes horribly gummy – you’re obviously doing it right – care to share the secret???

    Greeting and a warm welcome. We love hearing from new readers.

    We make granola from scratch every week. When fruits in season we have fresh homegrown fruit and sometimes yogurt. I guess you could say we are granola addicts… but it’s easy and filling way to start the morning.

    Here on the urban homestead we try to keep meals, simple!

    Chag Sameach! It’s always interesting to me when I find out that the blogs that I love reading are also Jewish families.

    The snow is finally almost all melted here in Montreal, and all the bulbs are popping up. I am itching to get my seedlings in the ground, but it will be another month before it’s safe to do so.

    I’m really not into plastic, and I’m even more not into heat and plastic, but I’m considering putting clear plastic over the beds to warm them up earlier. Any advice on that?
