The garden, though not as productive as years past (thanks to the wacky weather) still is yielding an delightful assortment of fresh veggies and fruit.
This week, we experimented making a fruit pizza with a homemade mint (homegrown) crust. Instead of veggie toppings and tomato sauce – fresh homegrown fruit and homegrown strawberry sauce. Everyone raved over it and I think we may have a winner!
HG = Homegrown
SATURDAY
Breakfast – homemade pancakes (made with HG eggs) and homemade, HG strawberry sauce and HG peaches
Dinner – homemade whole wheat tortillas, homemade spanish rice (HG tomatoes, peppers) topped with HG peppers, tomatoes and organic cheese
SUNDAY
Breakfast – homemade granola and HG fruit
Lunch – leftovers
Dinner – roasted HG eggplant, tomato sandwich
MONDAY
Breakfast – homemade granola and HG fruit
Lunch – HG lima beans, greens and green beans with organic CA rice
Dinner – HG roasted eggplant, tomato, basil organic pasta with organic parmesan cheese
TUESDAY
Breakfast – homemade granola and HG fruit
Lunch – HG lima beans, greens and green beans with organic CA rice
Dinner – HG fig bruschetta and HG tomato, basil bruschetta with HG tomato, cucumber basil salad
WEDNESDAY
Breakfast – homemade granola and homegrown fruit
Lunch – HG avocado and tomato sanwhich with HG lima and green beans
Dinner – HG fig bruschetta and HG tomato, basil bruschetta with HG lima and scarlet runnner bean, pepper salad
THURSDAY
Breakfast – homemade granola and HG fruit
Lunch – HG veggie soup (otherwise know as the 007 soup) made with HG eggplant, beans, tomatoes, peppers, herbs and green onions with homemade biscuits
Dinner – homemade HG herb pizza crust topped with HG roasted eggplant, tomatoes, basil and figs
FRIDAY
Breakfast – homemade granola and HG fruit
Lunch – leftover HG vegetable soup
Dinner – organic whole wheat pasta with homemade tomato sauce with HG tomatoes, peppers & herbs with HG tomato and cucumber salad, homemade no knead bread and HG/homemade wine
