Nothing says “summer” like fried squash blossoms!

Though it hardly feels like summer (we’ve had to bring out the sweaters and put back the blankets on the beds) the summer veggies are still prolific and this week we enjoyed a summer delicacy – stuffed, fried squash blossoms.

Picked from the garden

Stuffed with herb goat cheese

Dipped in batter

and dried (on eco napkins that we have on hand for our events and subsequently composted)

Oh and a great big thank you to those who have left positive comments regarding the new improved PathtoFreedom.com site – there’s still more to come!

One of the best secrets of the summer garden! I’ve even stuffed them with a mixture of cream cheese, chopped onion, and seasoned bread crumbs; then fried and served with a side of marinara.
This might just be on my table this weekend!

Oh man, there is nothing better than that. I remember my Mom and Grand Mother making them when I was a kid… Fried Pumpkin and Squash blossoms. Yum!
