SOWING THE SEEDS OF FREEDOM

I know, I know another seed post.  But we have seeds on the brain and we came up with this plan over lunch to try and move all these seeds out of our dining room.  Just to give you an idea how much seeds we invested in – we have 4 1/2 five gallon buckets of peas.  Yep, that’s a lot of peas – about 50 lbs worth!   Nothing ventured nothing gain they say, so give our peas a chance in your garden!

Special Offer

To give you an incentive in putting these seed varieties into your/others hands we are offering a 10% discount to all those of you who write about FS on your blog or website.

Even better if you do recruit a new customer and they mention your website by name on the order form they & you will get an additional 5%!

Since the FREEDOM SEEDS website is still in the works here’s how you can order

1. request the 2009 seed list

2. fax, mail or phone in your order  (you could do it by email and then call in your credit card #)

3. to qualify for the 10% discount put your blog link url in with your seed order and if we get a referring seed order from your post that customer will get a 5% discount (they must refer to your post) and you will get an additional 5%

Having got this offer out of the way,  this should be the last “seed post” this week. Because hopefully we’ll be busy filling your order.

Oh yes, thank you Shirley for reminding me during our lunch brainstorming session we got a phone call for a seed order!   It was a pleasure chatting with you also and I too look forward on not having to jump over boxes of seeds to get from the dining room table to the office.

Look for incredibly cute animal photos and more…. lots to share from the urban homestead.

Thank you Anais for adding this post. It was nice hearing your voice live earlier today. Hope your warm weather lasts and the garden grows abundantly. Also hoping you seel all the seed soon so as not to have to jump over boxes to answer the phone.

I can imagine those buckets being recicled for garden containers. Don’t rightly know where they would hang since all the ground space is covered. I had actually thought of planting a post at the end of each bed and running one from top to top over the bed for hanging buckets.

One of the Freedom Gardeners has such a set-up for her tomatoes sprouting from a hole in the bottom of each bucket. Mine would also have the tops planted with short vines. Or holes could be drilled in the sides for strawberries. – Ideas –

Since this is the last seed post for the moment please tell us what the Farmers are doing in the garden. Please, please.

Your post makes me think about the lyrics of that John Lennon song that goes something like….” all we are saying,..is give PEAS a chance…” 🙂
Hey, I’d love a list of seeds, too.
    Talk to you soon,
    Craig

I’m going to be posting on my blog next week. Hopefully this will help get some orders for you. I’ve got some time set aside for figuring up mine this weekend. It’s nice to thinkg about gardening when it’s in the single digits outside.

I recently found out about your site and project and all via hopedance.org – I love what you’re doing!! I’ve been gardening for years and now, as an apartment-dweller, do what I can with a porch garden and a small plot or two on the grounds. Our local movie theater often shows unusual films – perhaps HomeGrown could be shown there? (The Bryn Mawr Film Institute, in Bryn Mawr, PA)
