Kiwi flower

Lonely, radiant SF seeking SM of like nature to develop a fruitful relationship. The kiwi’s are finally flowering after two years! We shall see if this year we will be able to eat these tasty treats because there are only the female flowers blooming – no males in sight (figures!).   Wondering if there’s some sort of dating services offered for bachlorette kiwis?

i’d love to grow kiwis…i think there are some hardy to my area now…

    Hello Stella

Thanks for the comment! What zone are you in, is there any tips you can offer to get the kiwis to set fruit? Unfortunately, the female flower just shriveled up… no males in sight, yet. We are keeping our fingers crossed. 😉

i’m in zone 6…southern illinois across the river from st.louis…

they have to have a male…did you start them from seeds or order plants? they should start to fruit between 2-6 years. i know i’ve seen plants for sale..perhaps you could buy a male?

We have a male plant, purchased the same time as the females. We bought them in 5 gallon pots.

maybe it’s just too soon then? maybe the males (like humans!) mature slower. it can take up to 6 years for them to start fruiting.
