I can see the day coming when even your home garden Is gonna be against the law.
Union Sundown – Bob Dylan
Be scared, be very scared!
Back in 2001 faced with the threat of our food and seed supply Jules Dervaes took a stand and PTF garden project was sown (view the video Homegrown Revolution).
Since then our little plot has become a living protest against the corporate powers that be. It’s been seven years and now the project has grown into a new site (coming soon) Freedom Gardens.org to free ourselves from this growing threat.
THE WORLD ACCORDING TO MONSANTO (foreign documentary)
On March 11 a new documentary was aired on French television (ARTE – French-German cultural tv channel) by French journalist and film … all » maker Marie-Monique Robin, The World According to Monsanto – A documentary that Americans won’t ever see. Monsanto’s Harvest of Fear (Vanity Fair)
Monsanto already dominates America’s food chain with its genetically modified seeds. Now it has targeted milk production. Just as frightening as the corporation’s tactics–ruthless legal battles against small farmers–is its decades-long history of toxic contamination.
What can you do?
Join the Millions Against Monsanto campaign
Support local famers, grow your own and save your own seeds.

April 11, 2008 at 2:46 pmThanks for the link to such a compelling film. I haven’t seen such a horror movie in a while. I have forwarded the link to everyone I know. I’ve never seen a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Thanks for all your work and efforts.

April 12, 2008 at 3:28 pmDo you know of a site that lists the owners of the seed companies? Are companies such as Gurney’s, Johnny’s or Burpee, etc. owned by large conglomerates like Monsanto? I am trying to save most of the seeds I use, but it is a slow process and every year I still need to order some seeds. However, I would order from a small independently owned company rather than one like Monsanto.

April 13, 2008 at 2:30 pmAnais, this is a very important post. Thank you guys so much for your consistency in being a catalyst for us to retain, or to take back, our food and property and right to decide what’s on our dinner plates…and keeping it from being altered for the sake of corporate greed.
I’m linking to this article from my site…thank you again. Monsanto has been villainous for a great many years now. They think they can “play God” with impunity and never a consequence as long as they can buy off or threaten detractors.

Thanks for adding THE FUTURE OF FOOD. It’s an excellent film highlighting GE foods and how Monsanto is tampering with the food system.

April 14, 2008 at 7:08 amThanks for the seed saving info, and the companies that are not Monsanto. This has got to be one of the most important issues, and because it’s not a “glamorous” topic, most people, even dedicated gardeners, aren’t aware of these threats to the food supply, and the domination of the market by companies like monsanto.
Thanks again for posting this.

April 15, 2008 at 7:41 pmThis is a sad and sobering documentary. Thank you for sharing the link. It has certainly created a stir in our house as we discuss what we -as just one family- can do to resist this corporate aggression. We already buy and grow non GM seeds – but I want to take our efforts to a higher level. This film is just the first step in what will be a long line of research for me.
