July 25, 2013 at 4:32 pmDear Dervaes Family,
I love looking at your website and all that it has to offer. It is my hearts desire to learn to live self sufficiently. However, I don’t know how to get started. I work all the time, mornings and evenings, I don’t have a set schedule. I also have a small mortgage payment to pay and without a steady income I would not be able to do that. What advice would you give to someone like me so that I could get started changing my lifestyle?
Your friend,
Tresa

August 6, 2013 at 3:41 pmI am also a beginner at gardening. Being over 50 ,single, female, even building the raised beds is a challenge, but not impossible. I live in southern Florida and I have had limited success. Even if I could supply all my salad veggies that would be great. I did have some kale, and broccoli, salad greens not so good. Also I have a drain field in one part of the back yard and a pool in the other side. I was told not to dig into the drain field. Any suggestions about using the land above it ?

September 2, 2013 at 10:07 amI am very interested in learning how to do “square inch gardening” I just started “sq. foot gardening” and I would assume that I would need to have a soil mixture that is more nutrient intense for square inch gardening. ???? How to do that w/o using too much fertilizer???? Do you have a “how to” section with detailed instructions on the square inch method ???? Thanks so much for all you do !!
