It’s a busy time here on the urban homestead. Lots of produce orders to fill, constant planting and harvesting efforts. There’s also figuring out to best optimize both the productivity of the garden and use of the harvest in terms of preservation – perhaps into secondary “sellable” products which would generate a bit of extra income.

Also another unsolicited high profile media source has contacted us wanting to do a story. Hopefully more soon…

What a beautiful place! Your garden is way ahead of ours, but I have it in now, at least. We are already making plans for expanding again next year. Thanks for the inspirational pictures.

    In Christ,

Lovely photos, as always. Our garden is just not moving fast enough to suit me. We have had several days of terrible storms, with 60 mph winds and hail. Tornadoes dancing around us, but none directly over us thank goodness. The temps have been up and down…cool one day, near blistering the next. A town an hour or so from us has already had a 108 degree day..IN JUNE!

Best wishes for the new media source contact. Of course, your success is our benefit. I can never get enough of your site or videos.
Is there a part IV for the UCLA Lectures?

    Thanks so much!

Absolutely stunning! I love all the pictures that include large areas, they really help us to get a feel for the layout. You all are doing amazing work.

Thank you for the daily inspiration 🙂

I meant to ask…in the third picture down from the top there appears to be a trellis over some Cukes? Zukes? What is it? I am new to trellising veggies and am always on the look out for clever ideas!

Gorgeous. I love this site for many reasons, but I’m not afraid to admit I love the photos most of all. You have such a beautiful place. One of these days I’m totally going to have to drive by and see it for myself (and measure the distance between your raised beds while I’m at it–so curious to know how much walkway room you leave between them).

Wow! Beautiful! These pictures just make me want to get out and remove some more grass.

Just two weeks ago we reclaimed another 10 foot
square of grass for a garden. This area is for my two girls. They wanted their own garden just like their mom’s. Cool or what? Starting them early (4 and 6 years old) so they get the gardening bug too.

Thanks for continuing to inspire me!

Amazing!!! Thank you for giving me something wonderful to strive for! My garden will take a lot more time to get to this level because there’s only 2 of us and it’s not a full-time deal at this point, but little by little we will grow more! I’ve decided to make you my “Jones'” but keeping up with you is a steep hill! 😉

  9. Christine says:

Your gardens are so beautiful, they must be such a joy to walk in! I’m finally getting in a garden for the first time in a few years! We have purchased ten acres. The first thing for me is the garden! It should be a house, but I knew that was going to take a little longer…Are you guys ever going to get out of the city? What happens if the water doesn’t come on? Thanks, and I hope that doesn’t sound too negitive. C

Can you take my last name off the last transmission? I’m really dumb with computers! C

These pictures are so beautiful! Keep up the good work.

Wow! If my garden looked like that I would be on cloud nine! Those pictures are spectacular. And I can’t wait to see your next TV appearance.

How beautiful! I am so very jealous! However, I know how much hard work has gone into it, I just wish mine looked half as good. Keep up the good work, you guys are such an inspiration to us wannabe’s. At least you have got us to thinking and moving toward self suficiency and realizing how dependent most of us really are. I think a move back toward self suficiency is on and more people need to get involved! Thanks again for your daily inspirations!
