IN THE GARDEN

Strawberries, peppers growing under a living mulch of salad greens

Summertime is just around the corner! Leaves are coming back, plants are filling in which were hit by the deep freeze back in January. Spring couldn’t have come soon enough; however, without the much needed rain there are no showers to bring May flowers…. we really, really need rain. Don’t know if I can say this enough, especially for those who depend on the earth for their meals.

What’s growing?

Cukes, squash, beans, eggplant, peppers all planted and growing ever day. Tomatoes are over knee high.

We pray and look forward to a bountiful harvest this year.

Strawberries are ripening and we are topping our spring salads with their delicate taste of summer.

There’s still lots of work and improvements to be done in the garden, still recovering from the frost damage and the roof construction. Stay tuned for photos and details.
