Biodiesel Mixer with Maria Alovert
We shouldn’t be experiencing this kind of hot weather already – temps over 100 yesterday and again today.  This unexpected heat wave is leaving local weather forecasters scratching their heads.  It’s been a crazy weather year, I wonder what the rest of the year will be like?

Friday night we hosted a social gathering,”biodiesel mixer,” to welcome Maria ‘Mark’ Alovert to SoCal. We had a full house with nearly 25 in attendance – thanks to those who brought food to contribute to the potluck.

Maria gave a great “introduction to biodiesel” presentation.    As with all PTF events, people milled around long after the event was finished. I had to finally “turn out the lights” a little after midnight.

Today should be fun with Maria giving a biodiesel workshop. We are expecting nearly 50 people to attend her class. Check out the latest Home Power magazine. There’s a great article written by Maria on brewing your own fuel (and a photo of our processor on page 54 )

Coming to a newsstand:

This fall there’s going to be an in-depth article written about PTF in the Natural Home & Garden magazine. The photographer should be coming out to snap photos in the next few months.  The article, written by a young local writer, will take a in-depth look at PTF’s tips and techniques on growing food and living sustainably.

That’s so great that you’ll be able to share more of your story in print. Out of curiousity, I’d like to see that article, but am unfamiliar with that magazine (I’ve not seen it around these parts)… Will you be able to provide a link to the article once it’s published?

Again, way to go, PTF! You are really getting yourselves and your message out there. I wish you well in all of it.

    Hello Wildside

    Thanks for your encouraging comments.

Will definitely post a link if there is one available once the article is printed.

The magazine is may be in your local Wild Oats of Whole Foods market (don’t know if you have one where you are though?).
