HOMEGROWN THE FILM

A family, a journey, a revolution

Looks like there’s new piece of artwork.  I like the reference to family farm.  Because, we’ll it is!  We are first and foremost farmers – living off our little plot of land.   Sure, we have a few odd jobs here and there but our main job in life is plant, raised and grow food not only for our family but for income.

New Face on Farming

Intensive urban agriculture can provide from one to three pounds of produce per square foot per year. Each person consumes approximately 300 pounds of fruits and vegetables per year. That means a space of 10’x10’ to 20’x20’ (100-300 square feet of growing space, not counting paths) would be needed to grow ALL of the fruits and vegetables for each person.

Urban backyard, balconies and empty lots are the new farming frontier.  Forget the back forty!  Small scale mini farms are the 21st century family farm. Growing food is growing a secure future.

Urban aggies are the future farmers of the American landscape.

This is such amazing artwork. I think the people involved in this film project must be quite professional. I’m also curious about your other artwork involving ’40’s style images. Do you have an artist consult? Why choose old images? The newer ones seem more compelling.
