If you have been following this site then you know that ‘Green Beans in the Garden” is one of our favorites songs!  Heck, I’ve even caught the guys singing along!

Though we are experiencing an early case of gloomy weather (know to us SoCalites as June Gloom) summer is certainly here!  So we will enjoy the cooler/sweater weather before we get roasted and toasted very soon.

I am sooo far behind in keeping ya’ll abreast of the daily happenings so I am going to try to do my best this week but I think I am slightly lacking in motivation (or is it lack of free time) – don’t know exactly which and why.

But there’s certainly a lot happening despite my tardiness – the garden is just gorgeous and the critters just as funny as ever.

“Green Beans in the Garden” is saved in my favorites and I just can’t get enough of it. Thanks for sharing.

I don’t think you could ever be accused of a lack of motivation. How you guys manage to do what you do is impressive and puts so many of us to shame. I love the pic of the green beans. Hoping mine get going here pretty quick. Thanks for your site.

Well our first beans are a few weeks away and they will likely be purple, not green 😉 But I really did enjoy the song and video; made me kinda weepy inside.

Do you know where to find the lyrics to this West Ladies song? If not prohibited in some way, could you post the lyrics or ask the dear W.Ladies to post the lyrics on their blog(s)? As mentioned by several people, there are just a certain few words that are hard to make out and we’d love to know what they are. 🙂
    gratefully, HveHope

I know, I’ve asked them too and good news is they are working on a song book. In the meantime, the lyrics for GREEN BEANS is in their cookbook Homestead Blessings. I’ve worked on transcribing a few for myself, were you looking for a particular song?
