Brrr, it’s been quite cold these last few days. Mornings and evenings especially.
Today is baking day in the cob so I will be making a couple of alfalfa sprout bread, pumpkin pie, rice pudding and a dish of our popular New Orleans style bread pudding ( I know, I know – I really should make a collection of our favorite recipes!). I do wish I had some potatoes to cook in the oven! With the colder weather one starts to crave such starchy foods to fuel the internal furnace. We’ll also warm up some homemade winter squash soup for dinner in the oven.
