AUTUMN EATS

Nothing fancy. Simple, homegrown meals
Still Going

Pomegranates still on the menu, so are tomatoes, basil, eggplant, lima beans, peppers and squash! Saving the colorful homegrown stash of winter squash for mid winter.

Planting: potatoes, fava beans, garlic, onions, peas, broccoli and assortment of root & green crops.

Saturday

B – homemade waffles made with homegrown pomegranates, homeraised eggs and local raw milk

D – homemade spanish rice made with homegrown tomatoes, peppers and green onions with organic black beans

Sunday

B – homemade granola topped with homegrown pomegranates

L – leftovers from Saturday

D – organic mac & cheese with homegrown tomatoes, peppers and squash

Monday

B – homemade granola topped with homegrown pomegranates

L – homegrown limas, steamed with homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranates

D – long grain organic rice with homegrown tomatoes, limas, pepper, squash with homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranates

Tuesday

B – homemade granola topped with homegrown pomegranates

L – fried homegrown eggplant (made with homeraised eggs, second hand bread from local restaurant and homegrown herbs) with homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranates

D – homegrown tomato sandwich served with homegrown arugula and raw cheese with homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranate seeds

Wednesday

B – homemade granola topped with homegrown pomegranates

L – creamed homegrown greens soup

D – same with homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranates

Thursday

B – homemade granola topped with homegrown pomegranates

L – steamed homegrown greens over long grain organic rise with homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranate seeds

D – pizza topped with homegrown tomatoes, basil, eggplant, peppers served with homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranate seeds

Friday

B – homemade granola topped with homegrown pomegranates

L – homegrown eggplant casserole (made with homeraised eggs and second hand bread from local restaurant and herbs) with homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranate seeds

D – homegrown salad topped with homegrown pomegranate seeds served with w.w. pasta homemade tomato sauce (made with homegrown tomatoes, peppers, onions and basil) and french bread

No Rain

Rain fell in Northern Cal and San Diego but missed Pasadena completely. Too bad, we could have used the rain.

Oil Spill

    Dumb question dept: what do you do with the pomegranete seeds, swallow them or spit them out?

    Yes was hoping for rain as well for transplanted onions & garlic, but clouds were dispersed by winds :(. Unfortunately a burst water pipe in the community garden left a small lake today so did get some water coverage but some plots are now swampy :(.

    Great to see your getting out the Path to the public. I have to checkout your book entry at the library as got to many full bookshelves as it is.
