More rain is expected over night and into Saturday and guess what? There is a more chance of rain middle of next week. Whoo hoo! The rain was light enough to it made produce deliveries to our clients without a need for an umbrella (today, we got a special treat from one of our clients, freshly made Irish Soda Bread). In between the rain drops the guys are busy working in the garden had hosing down the plants with a micro organism mixture.
The rest of the afternoon will be spent cleaning house, baking brownies, putting up laundry, knitting in a comfy chair and/or working on computer, answering emails andworking on the new website. Friday night is movie night with family and occasionally friends will join us.
Tonight we’ll cuddle under warm blankets and watch
Good Night, and Good Luck
Back to speaking of the rain, even though it looks like this year we’ll barely reach our average rainfall amounts at least we are getting some rain. Unfortunately, not all part of the states are fortunate: Is America facing yet another dust bowl? Large parts of Texas and Oklahoma are bone dry. Fueled by the dry conditions, fires are ravaging the region. It’s reported that the fires have already burned what is equivalent to the size of Connecticut (if I remember correctly) in acres.
Water is worth fighting for — even to the death, activists holding an “alternate” forum outside the world water summit said Friday. That attitude might seem strange in developed countries, where water flows at the touch of a faucet. But it isn’t nearly as accessible in the developing world. And water wars aren’t an apocalyptic vision of the future. They’re already starting to happen, the protesters say.
