There’s a great quote from one of our readers which I saw posted on the PTF forum: “Living abundantly starts with the nitty-gritty basics and attention to detail!”
Here’s a photo of our first batch of REAL biodiesel after the washing process. Never thought we’d “oooh and ahhh” over some grease – but it sure looks “sweet” as JD exclaimed. Now we have 30 gallons of biodiesel that Kalib (the chemist) wants to do some testing on to determine the quality of this batch.
PATHS ARE MADE BY WALKING
“Do not go where the path may lead go instead where there is no path and leave a trail” Ralph Waldo Emerson
This year is going to be a journey into the unknown. We’re having quite a lotof brain sensory overload these days trying to learn new skills and techniques – boy what we would give for someone just to give us a hands on demo! Reading “how-to’s” is one thing but putting the concept into practice for our location or needs is another. Right now there are so much “to do’s” on the plate it’s hard giving each of the tasks enough time.
You should see what we come out of the library with these days! The friendly librarians comment, “well looks like you all are into ‘fill-in-the-blank’ now” as we borrow stacks of books on carpentry, plumbing, sustainable living, natural home and so forth.
REACH OUT AND TOUCH SOMEONE
Right now, we may have some possible candidates for workshops. So far spinning, weaving and dying classes are in the works (besides the biodiesel). Still hoping for a reply from the soapmaker.
