Eggs for hatching sources

Q. I was referred to you by a friend of mine who has been to your home many times. I’m looking for fertilized chicken eggs for our homeschool (we have an incubator and brooder here at our house) and she thought I may be able to purchase some from you. I saw a price for pullets on your website, but didn’t know if you would offer me eggs nor how much you would want for them.

Thanks so much! Your work is downright impressive, and important! I look forward to hearing from you.

A. I don’t have a rooster due to city laws (sigh) but have been obtaining some of my hatching eggs from a local breeder. Unfortunately, she’s all sold out to me! You can buy hatching eggs on ebay (no kidding! try searching for “hatching eggs”) but you have to trust the breeders.

I’ve found that Meyer Hatchery (http://www.meyerhatchery.com/) offers good hatching eggs and if you buy more than 6, it’s a pretty good deal.
