Hello! Thanks for visiting our website and for your interest in our urban homestead. One of our favorite things about having a website is hearing from other people. We welcome your messages and are grateful for your communication and feedback.
We read all e-mail messages, but please understand it is impossible for us to answer all correspondence personally. We want to sit and correspond with each of you and forge long-lasting connections but that would leave absolutely no time in the day for us. There are seedlings to plant, food to harvest, pests to vanquish and animals to feed -- because quite simply, these animals will perish -- PERISH!! -- if we don't feed them right on time to the second. But no worries! Your message hasn't gone to some faceless, nameless computer! Although a volunteer may be the one to respond to your e-mail while the rest of us play juggling match with the multitude of chores, your message was read by one or all of the Dervaes family, and we have dictated our response to you.
Also, since our project has been featured in several media outlets, we are rather behind in personal correspondence, so if your e-mail isn't important (well, all e-mails are important, but y'know what we mean) and time sensitive, please understand that it might take our volunteers a little while to get around to responding at all. Time-sensitive emails are usually addressed quickly.
If you have a specific question, to make it easier for you (and us!), we have created areas on this site to help direct you to an answer. If you cannot find the answer in the FAQs [2], then please the following directory to filter your request for both our benefits.
If you want to keep up to date with what's going on in this crazy life of ours, apart from reading our Little Homestead in the City blog [3] on this website, you can sign up for our e-newsletter [4] and get all the latest news and urban homestead dirt straight to your e-mail inbox. We're also around on the web, so check out our pages [5] to connect with us through other social medias.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:Path to Freedom is a worldwide urban homestead example and model, but it is also our family home and private residence. Please understand that although we want to inspire others by being an example, we are not available to receive drop-in, drive-by visits. Because of the popularity of the urban homestead and the demands on our time, we are unable to give personal tours of the urban homestead to stop-by visitors, nor can we allow you to walk through the front yard and garden as our daily schedule is very full. If you want to make an appointment, please contact us in advance by using the directory provided on this page. We thank you for your understanding and hope someday to be able to meet you all.
