Urban Homestead’s 2010 Year in Review
I know it’s a bit overdue (thanks to busy & rough start to the new year) and, honestly, I was putting it off because I am having a really BAD case of writer’s block…. but here it goes!
HUNG OUT TO DRY
Well, since I have never had a dryer to use (except when visiting friends or traveling), I cannot comment on using a dryer from firsthand experience. All I know is that an electric clothes dryer is an energy hog.
BENEFIT CONCERT
We were happily surprised and extremely grateful to the The Ridgewood Boys of Kentucky who are holding benefit concert for Path to Freedom’s growing outreach.
GROWING COMMUNITY
I know it’s not really “homesteady” news but one of the most important aspects of urban homesteading is to share with our neighbors.
Requests are pouring in – folks want us here, there. Unfortunately we can’t be everywhere.
ROUND UP
With all that’s going on, figure it’s high time I sit and collect all the newbytes and articles that ya’ll may have missed this week. On Fridays I am going to try to make it a weekly habit to post some highlights. Git along little dawgies!

The summer harvest is now just started to pour in and what a blessings. We are so thankful for the bounty that the earth provides. This week we revisited and revived our 100 Foot Diet Challenge
100 FOOT DIET CHALLENGE
We started this challenge a couple years back, and it was very popular and successful in getting folks to eat closer to home. With more and more folks growing their own food, we figure it’s about time we revive and relaunch this challenge!
