THE LITTLE FILM THAT COULD
After two years of being screened at many film festivals and community viewings throughout the world, we have published (in its entirety) our award winning short film Homegrown Revolution for free viewing on YouTube.

Some folks say the benefits of kombucha are a bunch of hooey and most recently this brew was steeped in controversy. But according the “fermenters bible,” Nourishing Traditions, Kombucha has quite a few important health benefits.
TAG-A-LONGS
Usually our backyard barnyard is relatively calm; yet, ever so often there is an occasional cackle of a laying hen. Back in the summer, the peaceful animal kingdom was broken by some unusual quacking.
HOP HARVEST
This is our first year growing hops and we were pleased to see the vines just take off and start covering one of our arbors in a matter of months. I simply love the foliage and papery cones that cascade down
THIS BUD’S FOR YOU
Besides our aquaponics project another new experiment here at the urban homestead this year is growing hops. We purchased the rhizomes in Spring and the other day I spotted some teensy tiny flowers!
