HACK!

Posted by Anais Dervaes

No, we aren't talking the coughing kind.   Winter time it's time to take a hard hack at the trees here on the homestead.   Last year, we didn't get around to doing hard trimmings and the front yard got too durn shady.   This winter, we were bound and determined to give all the trees a good hack and give the front yard some much needed "breathing" space.    With such a hard trim back we hope that it will improve the edible production of the front yard landscape.

In a previous post, I addressed the "shade issue" that a maturing edible landscape presents for growing sun loving edibles.

What garden preparations are you doing at this time of year?
