GET READY, GET SET – SEED START

Posted by Anais Dervaes

Spring's just around the corner - have you caught spring fever yet?  Remember to set your clocks AHEAD this Saturday!

Every year we make up thousands of soil blocks . If there's one tool a urban gardener/ farmers needs is this handy instrument. Not only does it help us with our successive planting efforts, soil blocks save time, space, money - seedlings germinate and grow with no container... and the BEST part... NO transplant shock!

If you are LOCAL. stop by our "front porch farm stand"  and pick up your blocker!  Justin might even be around to give you a soil blocking demo!

  1. Anais, I hear you mention the soil blockers every spring but just haven't got one yet. They are really expensive for a good one. I suppose over the long run the cost of starting seeds would be considerably less. This is my first year of serious seed starting so maybe a soil blocker would be in the near future.

Have a great soil blocker day.

  2. Yes I need to get the soil blocking tool for sure! In the past I have started a couple trays of seeds but this year I am starting TONS. I'm trying many things I haven't before and so far I have 7 trays going. I am seeing the advantages of that tool for sure :-) Yes... that's going on my "To Do" list.
