Yes on Prop 37 Giveaway: Kombucha Kamp Kickstarter Kit – over $100 Value

As a blog, an organization and a family, we usually try to avoid infusing our work with politics.  But right now, organic is under attack in this country. Our only hope for getting genetically modified (GMO) foods labeled is happening RIGHT NOW in California. Next month, California voters are getting the chance to vote to label GMOs. The initiative is called Proposition 37.

Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the opposition (Monsanto, Dupont, et al) have raised over $20 million to try to sway Californians to vote no on Prop 37.

Our sponsors at Village Green Network  have worked with companies who support the Yes on Prop 37 initiative to arrange for a promotional giveaways to raise funds for this initiative.  Thanks to Kombucha Kamp for this awesome giveaway!

How to Enter to Win

All you have to do is use the Rafflecopter widget below.  If you have a donation to spare, we encourage you to share that as well.  You don’t have to donate to win — this is voluntary — but hopefully you’ll find a way to donate something! Even if you can only donate $10, every little bit helps!

You can get more entries by sharing on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Contest ends on October 24, 2012 at 12pm midnight.

Here are the official rules for this giveaway, and you need to know that this sweepstakes is open to US residents only; residents of Florida, New York or Rhode Island are not eligible. (Sorry!)

I would love for you to participate, even if you are unable to donate. Simply leaving a comment or sharing this post will help spread the word, and strengthen support for Prop 37, requiring GM foods to be labeled.

  4. We are voting yes on 37! People need to know what is in their food!

  5. Great giveaway, thanks!

  6. I'm all for it! As a clinical researcher, I can't believe that these foods were released to the market without extensive testing. The drugs we test spend nearly a decade in voluntary human testing befoer being released to the public.

  7. gmo foods shoule be labled and well as non-gmo foods fair on both sides.besides who wants to eat gmo foods on purpose? i dont. thanks

  8. I follow your homestead and hope to be set up in the near future on my own little piece of heaven

  9. This is a pivotal opportunity for us to get GMO foods labeled! Please encourage everyone in California to Vote yes on prop 37.

  10. These "foods" should be labeled... if they are so great, WHY won't they admit to being GMOs? Hmmmmmm?

  11. We have the right to be informed about what we are buying and eating.

  12. If GMO's are so safe they should be proudly announced on the labels! They wouldn't be fighting so hard to keep them secret if they were actually safe.

  13. I'm 110% for labeling GMO's. It's not for them to feed us food that is not 100% tested. At least if the food items containing GMO's were labeled, we have our own choice.

  14. I dream of Kombucha, grow your own no more GMO's
Kombucha Kamp is for me : ) I love Kombucha.....

  15. We do have a right to know!

  16. Would love to win and I hope prop 37 goes the way we want it too............i think we have a right to know what is really going on with our food

  17. Syria just called for a ban on GMOs to "Preserve the health of human being." My goodness have we let corporations ruin us.

  18. People who truly care about your health are for Prop 37. And shocker, biotechnology companies and food manufacturers who produce this unnatural food are against it. YES on 37!! Consumers have a RIGHT to know and to decide if they want to eat or not eat genetically engineered food!

  19. I have tried growing my own SCOBY using bottled raw Kombucha and it hasn't worked. I would so very much love to win this so I can get on with some Bucha Brewin! Thank you for this awesome giveaway and for helping to spread the word about Prop 37.

  20. Forget labeling!! They need to be banned!!!!

  21. I'm glad you all are promoting this. I'm not in California so I can't vote on it, but I totally support the effort to label GMOs.

  22. I strongly support GMO labeling as I think it is important to know what we are consuming. We need to become more informed consumers and demand that manufacturers clearly label what’s in our food!! Thanks for the chance!

  23. I strongly support GMO labeling. These companies shouldn't even be allowed to have GMO products, much less put them in the food without letting consumers know!

  24. I'm absolutely for labeling!
