SQUASHLAND
One thing I can say about growing these Italian "heirloom" squash, you are never really disappointed with the results!
The beauties are an heirloom squash called "Tromboncino" ( "little trumpet or trombone") and you can use the fresh (green) like zucchini. When they turn orange, you can use and store them like a winter squash. Talk about versatility!
When green, I think they are better than regular zucchini. The texture is firm, the flavor very delicate with a hint of artichoke. Once they turn orange you can use them as you would a butternut squash. I like to bake them with brown sugar and butter - yum!
Not only do they taste amazingly, but there are other perks to this veggie. They are borer-resistant, vertical, therefore, space-saving and tend to grow into humorous shapes. What more could you want from a squash!

I'm guessing 373 pounds. It's a great site. We're on about 1/3 acre and we share our garden space with 3 other families. We donate a lot of our produce to a local food bank that provides for returning disabled veterans. You folks are great and such an inspiration!
