I’m going to have to direct my husband to this post. He has been wanting to do something regarding fish, indoor food, and aquaponics for quite some time. I would love to hear if you have any good resources for this.

Your new clothesline looks like mine. Ours lasted about 3 years and then the plastic pieces on the tensioner gave out and hubby had to go in and patch them up – yay for him having metalworking skills! Replacing the entire contraption at a cost of $60 for a $0.50 plastic piece (they don’t sell parts) would have made me CRANKY. The new parts look kinda funny, but it still works great!

We are starting to raise bees this year. We just got the hives, not too long ago, and have bees ordered. We have been buying honey from my uncle, who raises bees, so I have been trying to learn to bake with honey. Ooohh! It’s so good!!! I love to see what other people are doing with bees… My son even wanted a bees suit for his 9th birthday! SO, we got him one so he can learn to help!
It would be interesting to keep seeing posts about your aquaponics adventure… I have a friend who has been wanting to try it. Keep up the posts on your fishies!

I’m really fascinated by Aquaponics, that’d be so cool to do… right now we have a new big project so that will keep us busy for a while. We just cracked open a 20 x 20 feet area of concrete that hadn’t seen sun in 50+ years and we’re going to let nature do it’s work to soften and till the soil for us. (putting in some grass clippings from neighbors lawns, add some worms, compost, finding some local top soil to add in, etc) We want to make the soil nice and ready before we put in the new veggie beds:
