As you can see from one of the photos, this year we've had one of our best carrot seasons - ever! I think we hit on a good variety that works!
Yesterday before heading up to Ojai the guys check in on the hives and on their initial quick inspection noticed there were very full and saw two more queen cells! Meaning we need to divide again -- making four hives?
Justin will be going to downtown LA today with a friend and "newbee" beekeeper to get some more hive supplies.
After coming back late from Ojai, Farmer D left early this morning on a road trip to pick up some more ollas. With our seed sales practically at a standstill the unexpected sales of ollas has been a pleasant surprise. Every little bit helps as we try to keep this site and social network afloat without having to dip into our savings.

gorgeous...I am amazed at the radishes! Mine are so puny..the rains here in Nor Cal made everything confused in my garden!

Don't despair about the seeds. I just think that it got a late start for all this year, and most people, like me, got anxious and ordered elsewhere to get the early start. I do plan on ordering seeds again this fall for my winter garden, and I would bet lots of others plan the same as well.
I can't believe how massive your French Breakfast radishes are!!! Mine are about the length of a quarter but the taste is very good.

I just wanted to tell you guys what a HUGE inspiration you are, to the community and to the world. I wish everyone could do what you guys do .. the planet would be in a better place. I have recently been exploring this new found passion of mine, and it brings me so much peace. I love being around greens, seeing them sprout.

Michelle: I think you may be mistaking daikon (asian)radishes for cherry belle (or other "American" types)
The radishes are nice, but the size can really vary by variety...
