SPREADING THE HOMEGROWN REVOLUTION ™

Posted by Anais Dervaes

"...it's inspiring that your family are doers and educators" - Frank J Schaller Jr, Director

With the ever increasing food woes and future worries, our urban homesteading project continues to inspire more and more people.

The latest news is that our popular YouTube piece Homegrown Revolution (now topping over 100,000 views) will be showing at the Legislators' Film Festival Soil - Food - Health Forum on October 25th at the 2008 Mind Body Spirit Expo Valley Forge Convention Center

When people say "you should contact this person or that, this show or that"  I tell, them "you know what, we don't solicit - all the press, tv and so forth have found us (emailed or called).  We do what we have to do, we live how we want to live and whatever happens - happens."

And sometimes the unexpected does happen!

"We still don't have an idea that we're going to quite and live off this fame.  This is our living, this is what we do, and we are going to live this revolution to the end, not necessarily profit from it or stop it and go on tour.  Once you don't have to sweat, I think the revolution is over.   Because it is a struggle.  No revolution is ever successful without a struggle" - Jules Dervaeas via Really Green Living, Pasadena Weekly April 2008

{A little history on the Homegrown Revolution video piece, it was hurriedly put together in just 3 days for a presentation last year given by PTF at UCLA.  Farmer D was the "warm up' act for Michael Pollan}
