URBAN HOMESTEAD EATS

The garden's bounty is starting to roll in. Lots of good homegrown eats, here's a menu of what we urban homesteaders enjoyed last week.

SATURDAY

Breakfast - homemade, homegrown blueberry pancakes (made with homeraised eggs) and homemade, homegrown strawberry sauce
Dinner - homemade whole wheat tortillas, homemade spanish rice (homegrown green onions, peppers, cilantro) with organic black beans

SUNDAY (hiking)

Breakfast - homemade, homegrown blueberry pancakes (made with homeraised eggs) and homemade, homegrown strawberry sauce
Dinner - homemade, homegrown broccoli lasagna with homegrown salad

MONDAY

Breakfast - homemade granola
Lunch - homegrown potatoes, zucchini, broccoli and greens with homegrown salad
Dinner - homemade, homegrown broccoli lasagna with homegrown swiss chard salad

TUESDAY (CNN crew arrives at 6:30 am)

Breakfast - homemade granola
Lunch -
Dinner - homegrown potatoes, with homegrown herbs and homegrown salad

WEDNESDAY

Breakfast - homemade granola
Lunch - homegrown potatoes, with homegrown herbs and homegrown salad
Dinner - homeraised egg salad sandwich with homegrown chives and cress with homegrown salad

THURSDAY (CBS Evening News)

Breakfast - homemade granola
Lunch - homemade, whole wheat and homegrown herb pizza crust topped with homegrown tomatoes, zucchini, green onions and basil with homegrown salad
Dinner - organic pasta and cheese with homegrown peppers, broccoli and homegrown salad

FRIDAY

Breakfast - homemade granola
Lunch - baked and breaded homegrown zucchini with homegrown potatoes with homegrown chives
Dinner - organic whole wheat pasta with homemade tomato sauce with homegrown herbs, homegrown baby field greens, homemade no knead bread and homegrown/homemade wine

    I see that you make your own tortillas, and I was wondering if you have a good recipe. Mine always turn out too tough, not soft and flexible.

  2. I just found your site and I 'm catching up on the reading.I have looked everywhere and no recipes.I love to grow it don't know what to do with it.
