Miss Clementime, our oldest chicken of the flock (she's going on 6 years) get's special "senior" privledges here on the urban homestead. She's the queen of the hennery and she keeps all the other hens in line. Clems the only remaining chicken left from the 2002 batch of hens we had. As senior matrion, she gets special "roaming privledges" so that she can have some personal time to herself away from the hustle and bustle of the main animal enclosure.
Old Clem sashays back to the animal enclosure to join the others. It's is just me, but I just adore fluffy chickens backside which we've aptly named "fluffy cheeks." I talk to her and say something like, "Whatch doing, Old Clem" and then start humming (or even singing) the song Joe and Pip belt out in Great Expectations.
